I am really please with how this turned out! It's a little vest in a creme alpaca. The pattern is very easy and I found it here. I think I may knit the matching cardigan.
This was easy and fast to knit and the first time I have inserted a zipper into a knitted garment. It worked out fine and I think zippers are the way to go when it comes to small kid's knits. It makes life much easier for everyone. The pattern is Bowmore - child's version by Louisa Harding from Rowan Knitting number 34. The yarn is also Rowan - Scottish Tweed Chunky in Mallard. A very lovely yarn though I wish I used a lighter color. I think it's hard to buy yarn over the Internet. You can never be sure about the color until you actually see it.
Marie seems very pleased with her new sweater. The arms are a bit long but that doesn't matter with babies! I think the sweater turned out nicely and I like it even more when I see it modelled!
This was not as easy to knit as it looks! But I am happy with how it turned out. It seems a little big but I won't know for sure until Marie has it on. It seemed to grow after I washed it and the yarn turned much softer. It's super wash but I washed it by hand at 40 degrees c. I love the buttons - 4 small sunflowers. It's supposed to be a spring jacket but with the weather we're having right now it will have to wait until fall!
This is my first attempt at knitting gloves. I saw these and was inspired especially since I have a few skeins of Kureyon in my stash. The pattern is very easy and it took me only two evenings to make one pair. My needles were too small so the gloves fit me not my husband. Next time I will use a bigger needle size.
My first post for many months! I have started knitting again - very slowly and with a lot of breaks. My first finished item for this year is this shawl in Evelyn Clark's Leaf Lace design. It's an easy pattern to follow and the results are pretty. I used yarn from my stash - Angora Fino - because the color suited the recipient. Otherwise I think I would knit this in a light worsted weight.
A sweet little baby who seems to like all her knitted clothes! See what Maggie thinks about our new little wonder here.
